So Suzy Stamps / Cracker Box Palace 4th Anniversary Blog Hop

Stamps: Dancing Fairy, Moonlight Fairy, Simple Birthday Wishes, Thank You

Today is the 4th anniversary celebration of So Suzy Stamps! Today we are hopping to celebrate and I created five card examples showing off a variety of masked background techniques. When I first started making videos about cardmaking, I applied to two design teams (one was So Suzy) and the rest was history! Suzanne, the former owner, is one of my dearest friends, and I worked for several months while So Suzy transitioned into the hands of the love Vicky Briggs. So Suzy is a staple in my card collection and these fairy stamps are my favourite line.

There are several prizes up for grabs today! 1x $25 and 3x $15 gift certificates for commenting. You have until April 29th at midnight to comment and the winners will be announced on So Suzy's Facebook Page and Blog on May 4th.

Stamps: Who Says, You Got This, Fairy Blowing Stars and Fairy with a Flower
Creating masked backgrounds can be as easy as masking off a triangle to as complex as a fanned appearance. Adding water with a Distress Sprayer made the lovely water splotches makes for a fun little extra texture.

Stamps: Eleanore Roosevelt and Swinging Fairy
You may prefer to use regular distress inks as opposed to oxides when stamping solid images on top. You can see the difference in the black on white cardstock vs. a coloured background.

Stamps: Dancing Fairy and Simple Birthday Wishes
Switch up the colours, masked areas or use dies to mask off areas. You can be as creative as you like with this technique! Check out colour palettes on Pinterest and see if you can be inspired to use colours you don't normally use.

Stamps: Moonlight Fairy and Thank You
This last card shows a custom background. I just started masking off a rectangle and slowly added stripes and lines to create this look. The possibilities are endless and this is such an inexpensive technique.
