Late Night Crafting :)

Today during Summer Card Class 2 at, we learned several new techniques.  Again, I had to use the same five colours: white daisy, goldrush,  honey, lagoon and smoothie.  I really enjoyed trying these new tricks, however I learned a lot along the way and had a little trouble!

Here is a picture of the three cards I made using the four techniques we learned about.

We learned about masking and how to get a single stamp to stamp in multiple colours.  I had a really hard time getting this to work with masking and inks because I was using a wooden stamp and I don't own a tool to line it up.  I realized today why I sell clear stamps ;) So I cheated and used markers to colour the stamp because after ten attempts, I was frustrated.  I also combined another technique to the background using Tim Holtz distress inks.  They bleed so nicely when you add water so I thought those inks were perfect.

This card here I stamped the words using an oil based archival ink from CTMH.  Then I took a stencil cut out from our art philosophy and filled in the holes with yellow and red paint.  When I finished I blended the two paints and used a sponge to wipe over the card.  Then with my finger I made a circle using yellow paint and stamped over it with archival ink. I used markers again for the Dream stamp.

This last one is a really simple card but I love the effect it has - it's so fun!

  1. have been busy! All three are beautiful!

  2. All three cards are lovely but I especially like the first one. I had trouble lining up the stamping in this way too but you have made a good work around.
