12 Days of Christmas *Day 1* - 2 for 1 Cards + Giveaway

09:00

Welcome back to the 5th Annual 12 Days of Christmas Video Series! I'm super excited to bring this series back and it's always something I look forward to each year! Today's giveaway is a card kit from Hero Arts - be sure to watch the video for instructions on how to win. The winners will be announced a few days after the series finishes.

Today I am working on 2 for 1 cards with focal dies. I am using two super cute dies from My Favorite Things' new release called Fa La La and Ho Ho Ho. Both create a beautiful focal point on the card and the negative dies were used to produce a second card. The Ho Ho Ho card features Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink.

My next set features a variety of blue inks from the Distress Oxide line: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch and Stormy Sky. I used a stencil to add a bit of extra bling to the white card and created an ombre effect using the same ink colours. I will see you Wednesday for Day 2!

  1. Justine, I LOVE watching your videos. Your style, ideas, creativity and talent are the perfect inspiration for me. These 2-for-1 cards are just perfect! Although what took you 15 minutes will likely take me an hour (or two) LOL The MFT/Die-namics Christmas are top of my list this year so, yay! I already have them. My favourite inks are definitely from Ranger...hard to choose between the Distress line and the Archivals/ Wendy Vecchi but if I have to choose one i’ll stick with my good ol’ Archival ink by Ranger. Thanks again for your wonderful creations and the time you spend with us. Much loved ❤️

  16. Love the two for one card ideas and large dies. My favorite inks to use for stamping are Versafine and Archival— love the crisp images I get from those inks. I’m still learning how to blend the distress oxide inks but I do a lot better with them than I did with the regular distress inks. Looking forward to all your card ideas for Christmas.

  17. I think my favorite dye inks are still Hero Arts. But I'm asking for Catherine Pooler inks for Christmas after watching your videos. I live in MN and I struggle with my ink pads drying out. My Hero Arts inks seem to last the longest of all my inks.

  24. Justine, I commented on this the first day it came out, but my comment seems to have vanished into think air. My favourite ink for stamping is Memento Tuxedo Black & for colouring it is Distress Inks. I think I'm going to have to venture into Distress Oxides though as they sound wonderful to work with & easier to blend. I'm not the best blender by far. I can't seem to locate day 2 or any other days of this 2018 series in the 12 days of Christmas. I hope nothing has happened that prevents you from doing it. I trust you are well.
