Top 10 Best Cards of 2017!

09:00

Today I am counting down the Top 10 Cardmaking Tutorials of 2017! I am excited to show you the most viewed videos created in 2017 and I had a blast making them all. What I love most is that each card incorporated a company that I designed for in 2017: Catherine Pooler Designs, My Favorite Things, Simon Says Stamp, The Ton, Thermoweb, Gina K Designs, Concord & 9th, Altenew and more!
Here is a recap of the top cards with small sneak peeks!

#10
Even though this card tutorial came in 10th place, I think it was my second favorite of the year! Showing off how to use MFT's Color Drops stamp in unique ways with vibrant Catherine Pooler inks was so much fun!

When Distress Oxide Inks were announced last year at Creativation, I had tons of questions that poured in. I was able to play and answer them as I learned all about them first in a Ranger workshop. What's the difference? Do I really need these? Can I just stick to the regular distress? Can I mix the two together? All these questions and more are answered in this video.

This video holds a special place in my heart. Last year during Creativation, I met up with Heidi from Simon Says Stamp and she invited me to participate in their releases. Ever since I started crafting I wanted to be a part of the Simon team and it finally happened. This was one of my very first creations!

Detailed and intricate backgrounds and stencils dominated Simon Says Stamp releases this year and I have a bunch of videos that show them off. This one was a particular favourite showing both white and Kraft cardstock.

The Ton is just so classy. Every time I am a part of the release celebration, I can't even believe how amazing each stamp set is. Here I show off the Joseph's Coat technique which isn't something many stampers have heard of before. Ink of a background, stamp in Versamark, heat emboss with clear powder and cover in black ink.

This is my personal favourite of 2017! I just love the elegant butterflies, the Number 10 card length and the watercolour backgrounds. They are amazing with individualized shakers with different coloured bits inside!

If anyone tells me I can make 25 cards in 1 hour, I am so clicking on that video and I did just that with Gina K and Them-o-Web's foilmates line this holiday season. Preprinted sentiments and backgrounds, a little foil and a cheap laminator go a long way!

Distress Oxides were one of the biggest trends 2017. I know so many people went from have no luck and a lot of frustration trying to blend with regular Distress inks to full success with the oxides. The unique pigment and dye formula entertained me for months!

2017 was a big year and the fact that I was able to design for Gina K Designs a few times was an honour! This "same background" in different ways was so much fun to create and coming up with new ideas on how to spice things up is always a challenge.

Although this stamp and die set have now retired, this is by far the most popular video of 2017! This fun die and stamp set were a big wow factor! I just adored this set but I know it was a bit tricky to fold so maybe that's why it is no longer around. I personally hope that Concord and 9th create some similar dies in the future!

Honourable Mentions:

This post got a lot of buzz when I posted it earlier this month. I so wish I had one of these videos when I first started out - it would have saved me a lot of money in the long run! I go through the stamps that have been in my stash for a long time and explain why they are chosen over and over as my favourites. Most of you know I purge often so it's fun to see what sticks around!

Lastly, I have my craft room tour which is always a hit! I move often so I have had quite a few different setups over the years and I am most excited about this one. It is the perfect size, the right amount of supplies and it is truly my happy place!
