Stretch Your Stamps Online Card Class Card #3: Background Stamps

14:43

Hi everyone,

Today I took a step away from Close to my Heart and used some other products I had lying around. We don't carry full card size background stamps so I had to dig through my stash. I think it turned out really pretty and I'm happy with the results:

I put some Distress Inks down on my craft mat: Pumice Stone, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Broken China. I dragged my stamp through the ink it and spritzed it with water before stamping it. I dried it with my heat gun, cut it into 1' squares and glued them onto a piece of white cardstock. I attached that piece to my card base, added the sentiment (cut out with my Cricut using the Calligraphy cartridge), layered it with Desert Sand Cardstock and added some Vellum butterflies. The last step was adding some of the pearls that are from Close to my Heart (retired).

Hope you enjoy the card. Remember to subscribe to my newsletter (top right on the side bar) because I am sending out a PDF file with all of my August projects to my subscribers that includes all instructions, techniques and supply lists :)

  1. Great idea to cut the sentiment with your Cricut! I need to do that more often...I really like your card. The images look beautiful!

    1. Thanks for your comment, Sharon. I only own two sentiment die cuts so I had no choice. I find it easier to die cut with the Cuttlebug because setting up the Cricut Explore (I love it) does take a lot of time for one sentiment.
