Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamps 2: Day 6 No Line Stamping

Hi everyone,

I have some very exciting news - I was chosen to be on the designer team at for the next six months. It starts in September and goes for 6 months :) I am very excited to get started!

I am catching up on some Online Card Classes homework and I created this beautiful simple card using the no line stamping technique. What you do is stamp the stamp in a very light ink (I used buttercup) which is a very light yellow. I then took my new Shinhan markers, which I love, and coloured in my stamp and blended until I was happy and couldn't see any lines so that it looks hand drawn. I guess I have my mother's day card for next year!

This stamp set is from Clearly Besotted. I also went in with some liquid glass adhesive and some Tim Holtz Distress Clear Glitter and added some sparkle to the flower. It is mounted on Creme Brûlée Cardstock from Close to my Heart :)

The next thing I decided to try out was colouring with the different brands of markers that I own.

Now you can see a comparison side-by-side.

Card Front #1:
This was coloured in with Copic markers

-this marker felt the most comfortable in my hand
-the brush tip makes colouring very fast and easy
-easy to blend out

-you really have to watch for bleeding, the brush gives out a lot of colour
-Tiny spots are hard to colour with a brush tip

Card Front #2:
This was coloured with our new Shinhan Markers which are a similar quality to Copics (but a lot cheaper)

-the bleeding was very easy to control because it does not have a brush tip
-blends easily with colours not even close to their "number"
-Don't need to worry about going outside the lines because the tip is small

-Due to the fact that there is no brush tip, it does take longer

Card Front #3:
This was coloured with Distress Markers

-the price point is great
-they blend well, which is surprising, because they are not alcohol based like the others
-more vintage looking

-A little more "streaky" because they  are dye based
-looked not very pretty until it dried
