Bee Stationary Kit using Skylark, Cardstock and the new Cricut Explore!

11:22

Happy May everyone!
I haven't posted this month, perhaps because of my latest distraction - the cricut explore! I honestly have to say that Cricut nailed it this time around. I have owned all of their machines except the Imagine and this is by far the most easy, user-friendly machine.

I created this Bee stationary kit (without the pen because I'm still looking for a nice one). I created this because I'm teaching at a Montessori school in Germany this school term and we decided to do a bee project with a local bee keeper who generously donated her time to us to help the kids learn. As a thank you, I created this box.

Using the Explore to create the layers on the bee was so easy. The image showed up as the whole bee and what it would look like put together. You put in the mat and it even has colour suggestions for the paper. Click cut, change paper and keep going! What is also great about the explore is that you can buy individual shapes for just 99 cents or subscribe for the month and have access to most of the cartridges. This bee for example is from the Art Nouveau Cartridge.

I used a bone folder and lifted those wings up for extra dimension.

I just love these Art Philosophy flowers - I never get sick of them they are just simply gorgeous.

The box inside is so cute! I created 3x3 cards using Art Philosophy and matching envelopes. I tied them together with some clearance hemp. A pen will go in the front area.

Here are the individual cards. I left them blank inside.

The envelope bundle looks so classy with the hemp and added stamping.

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges: Art Philosophy, Art Nouveau (Bee only)
Tools: Flower Roller Upper aka. Quiller Tool, Adhesive, Pearls Mocha (retired - but I suggest this to replace it), Hemp Neutral (retired), Cricut Explore, Micro Tip Scissors, Paper Trimmer, Sponge.

If you would like to know the steps in making this or ordering the supplies, send me over an email with anything that needs clarifying!

I definitely have to say that after working with the bees my fear of them is gone and I learned so much about how important they are!
