Simple but Elegant Masking

I hope you all enjoyed my last post on using the masking technique.  This masking technique is a much less time consuming task.  I really love the simplicity of this card.

(sorry for the shadows)

Step by Step Instructions:

1. Cut out a 3' dragonfly using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge (use scrap paper)
2.  Keep both the shape and the frame handy.
3.  Find the centre of the card using a pencil and a ruler and place the dragonfly frame in the centre.
4.  Now you have a dragonfly frame; grab dauber and using lagoon ink, fill in the frame (dark on the sides, and go lighter towards the centre)
5. When you are finished, let it dry for a minute, lay down the dragonfly shape overtop of the lagoon dragonfly so that you can no longer see it.
6. Take the swirl from Love Life and dip it in honey ink, stamp directly on the cut out of the dragon fly so that the edges sprawl outwards onto the card.  This way the stamp should not touch the real dragonfly.
7. Next, remove the dragonfly ask and stamp Thinking of You using a pigment ink
8. Add your three sparkles to the bottom right of the dragonfly
