Masking and One Layer Cards

One layer cards may sound boring and it may seem like it is not time consuming.  I am here to argue that statement.  I have created (with the help of clean and simple cards class) a gorgeous card that will have people asking..."How did you do that?"  I am here to show you how easy this card is (however it will not take you 5 minutes, it took me about 20).

How adorable is this card!!!

First, cut out speech bubbles using your Cricut Artiste cartridge or any dye set.  Add the shapes here but don't throw out the piece of paper with the shapes carved out!  Cut out the frame as well.  Lay it out on the card and determine which bubbles will overlap in front. I laid out the card above on scrap paper.

Next, I took the frame and placed it accordingly on my actual card.  I took my sponge dauber and used sunset ink to dab colour inside.  Do this for every bubble marked as "front"

Once you're finished, you are going to take those actual speech bubbles off the scrap piece and cover the inked images marked "front".  Now lay the frame overtop and daub the ink in, that way your "fronts" are protected.

Now you have your beautifully masked card!  I used a blow pen for the orange spray across the page, you can use any type of spray pen.  Then I stamped some hearts to finish it off.
